I’ve been a fan of The Sisters of Mercy for a VERY, VERY long time. In fact, I have a very fond memory of listening to this song.
I can vividly remember auditioning a head unit for my car, with my brother, and specifically popping in the TAPE (yes TAPE) into the head unit and cranking it up.
The gal who was working there, it was their family shop, looked at me in a very strange way. I was already plenty unique, not like she had remembered hearing this song.
The intro alone, oh man. Alas, while I had a minor crush on her many years before, that had abated by my complete desire to “GET THE FUCK OUT OUT NEW YORK.” Caps intended.
While I can recall our interactions, I can only wish her the best. I hope she got more than she wanted. I hope she was fulfilled as a human, non-sexual comment.
Many years later, before moving to Arizona, I came across her again. She was waitressing at a long bar & grill. I recall gazing at her, thinking how amazing I thought of her.
I never saw her again… But I had access to MORE.
