Anger and God. Anger and the Devil. What do they all have in common? Well, God loves you. The Devil hates you.
God, The Devil, and Sapphire walk into a bar. The bartender says … “None of you assholes exist!” He was right.
That was a lot of work to set up the topic, but I thought it was neat and I didn’t want to waste in another post. lol
All jokes aside, there is a point to this, And that point is very concerning since our current society apparently no longer has the capacity to do one simple thing.
And that is to have a conversation. When I say conversation, I mean an actual conversation.
I can talk to somebody who I disagree with as a rational adult and agree, disagree, and anything in between and not be angered over it.
Anger, when talking about a conversation is of absolutely no use. Rationality is paramount to being sufficiently capable of honesty, with the person you are talking to and yourself.
Additionally, I would like to note that by a conversation I don’t mean an interrogation or some sort of ruse to trap somebody into agreeing with your own beliefs.
The point of having a conversation with somebody is to actually talk with somebody. Talk.
If for some reason you are incapable of having a conversation because you’re consumed by anger because whatever the topic is making you so incredibly hateful, then you are the problem.
I know a number of people who are capable of talking and I know a number of people who were 100% incapable because they are, as just noted, consumed by anger.
There used to a label for those types of people and, it was never good.
I believe it to be an irrationality of the thought process, where someone has done you so wrong that there is absolute anger. You don’t want to know anything about the person or the topic, all you want to do is be angry.
I don’t know what that is all about and we see it in our society today. In some regards, I want to say it feels like a lack of discipline that causes conversational anger.
In fact, I have a friend who has explicitly told me that if I believed “INSERT KEYWORD HERE” that we could not be friends. My personal opinion is that is irrational but only because I know what the topic is and how crazy people are.
As a functioning adult, I know that there are things that I will agree with and that I will disagree with, and that’s just how life is. There is no use being angry over stupid inconsequential things that are well outside of the realm of our control.
Perhaps the problem is me. Perhaps the problem is that I am capable of having a conversation with somebody on a topic that I might not want to talk about.
The key difference is that I’m not going to be angry over it and tell that person(s) to go fuck themselves and suggest that they die in a fire all because they believe in something that I don’t.
One last thing, I do have another post I’m working on and it’s about a topic that I am very passionate about educating others on.
There should be no hate. Hate leads to violence. Violence leads to pain. Pain leads to death. Lots and lots of it.
