I’m a Jericholic. I’ll admit it. I’ve been a Jericholic for eons. No shit.

I have been a fan of Chris Jericho since I have been a fan of wrestling. Okay maybe that’s not necessarily true because I’ve been a fan of wrestling since I was six or seven years old… so Jericho would’ve been about six or seven years old.

I remember seeing Chris Jericho perform on WCW a time or two and the amount of charisma and sarcasm that he brought to the profession always made me LMFAO.

The most impressive thing that Chris Jericho ever did in terms of wrestling was to reinvent himself time and again to show that he was not some sort of one-trick pony.

The Ayatollah of Rock and Rolla he’d name himself. He’d also go by Y2J (much funnier) in his time under the WWE umbrella, even if that means shit now. It was good at one point…

If you’re a fan of wrestling and a fan of Chris Jericho, one of the greatest highlights in all honesty is his initial introduction to WWE courtesy of Duane “The Rock” Johnson.

Jericholic’s would agree, this is a pillar movement.

I remember watching the above video live, way back in 1999. I can tell you what couch I was sitting on and for whom I was sharing the couch. And how happy she was it was when this segment was over.

And she was a wrestling non-hater, I suppose that’s the best term. She encouraged it but knew I wasn’t about to drag her to a show. She was lucky that way. Even luckier now with a better human.

“Know your role and shut your mouth” so sayeth the Great One. Classic stuff, it made the interwebs the interwebs. Something involving candy asses, from what I recall.

So, what’s this all aboot? Well, it’s simple. I’m still a mark for wrassling and the other day I was re-watching an AEW show that featured one, Mr. Chris Jericho.

And he came out to his own music, kinda. The match stipulations said he couldn’t so the crowd sang it for him, exceptionally well. I believe it was AEW Dynamite 8/18/21.

It’s pretty surreal. Be a professional wrestler who also has a rock band and record your own theme song, have it denied by the match rules, only to have your theme sung by the fans. A+++
