Small Music Night – Jesus Junk by Atomic Opera |2020

I’ve been a fan of Atomic Opera since the mid-’90s. Another one of those throwbacks in my repertoire, Jesus Junk would hit that. I was chatting with a friend and this popped into my head.

I came across these guys around the time I got into Hum and really liked their first album, For Madmen Only.

That CD was on frequent rotation, especially Joyride, Blackness, and New Dreams. Joyride in particular is what sold me. Sold me hard.

And like Jesus Junk, the sound and texture to Joyride really popped out to me. Still does even today, since I just listened to it as I was writing it. Still makes me emote.

Oh, and one more thing … Check out this dude’s video on Atomic Opera’s For Madmen Only. At 8m21s, very highly likely the least worst thing to happen today.
