The Astonishing > A Savior In The Square

I am going to take a few minutes here, and over the next few weeks, to review Dream Theater’s new album, The Astonishing. IMO, this is a epic, massive and awe inspiring album. Clocking in at ~2h:10m, it’s gonna take a while.

The seventh track, A Savior In The Square, sets the stage with Lord Nafaryus arriving in Ravenskill and asking for Gabriel to sing. The intro guitar work, I’m sure of this, will set the Royal Family’s trek from the Royal Palace to Ravenskill. It’s roughy 1:30m and then the horns start.

This is the arrival of Lord Nafaryus! Bam! The horses, the horns, the darker sound. Only to be lightened up with Gabriel steps out and enlightens everyone with his singing. I think this because he see’s Faythe for the first time and knows.
