The Astonishing > Lord Nafaryus

I am going to take a few minutes here, and over the next few weeks, to review Dream Theater’s new album, The Astonishing. IMO, this is a epic, massive and awe inspiring album. Clocking in at ~2h:10m, it’s gonna take a while.

The sixth track, Lord Nafaryus, introduces Lord Nafaryus himself. It covers some of the background of the Royal Family. The textures it uses is pure Dream Theater. Pure.

Even though the track is ~3:28m, it’s really the second half of the song that makes an impact. This another track that JLB excels. Since he’s singing this as
Lord Nafaryus, he has to push a deeper voice.

This also, IMO, starts one of the best sections of the album. I think these tracks are right up there with the Ravenskill > A New Beginning section.
Lord Nafaryus
A Savior In The Square
When Your Time Has Come
