This Subaru Forester XT aka FXT, was special. It was a great platform to work off of and even more importantly, Subaru and their modularity make for some fun modding.
And a modding did we go. But before that, a little history. I originally purchased the Forester XT in December 2005. It had about 20k miles on it and was unmodified.
I proceeded to get it to that sweet spot, that perfect vehicle. And then I sold it like the dope that I am.
That was September of 2007, and I purchased the LGT Spec B. Eventually that led to the NSX.
I have greatly regretted selling the Forester XT, but it went to a great guy (Chuck) who took wonderful care of it. Every so often, I’d ask if he was ready to sell it, and he’d say no.
Chuck would go on to note that “when he was ready that I’d get the first crack at it.” In Sept. of 2010, I struck up a conversation with Chuck about buying it, and we worked out a deal to get it back to me.
But that failed to materialize due to finances. What a huge fucking bummer.
