tea timer

Here’s a fun game to play when under the influence, works best when you are doing it in your own home as to not alarm anybody with what you are doing. Consider this the warning before getting into it.

As I was making tea tonight I realized I had frequently been playing a game with the tea timer. It goes like this … I get to the point where I’m under the influence of something. Next, I make the tea. I was using Stash English Breakfast. So I poured water into the mug with the tea bag and set the timer to 4 minutes. That’s my normal with it.

I’m standing in the kitchen waiting around and I see the timer gets to 30 seconds left. It keeps ticking down. At 12 seconds, I close my eyes and try to see if I can get the tea bag rung out (on the spoon, spin the cord around, squeeze), throw it into the trash (on the right), and then make it over to the timer (to the left) before it expires, typically with 1 second left on the clock.

Some nights I beat the clock, some nights I don’t. I always end up with a good cup of tea and a ding somewhere from not knowing where the shit I am.
