Financial bailout’s cost to U.S. could total almost $24 trillion

Wow, even MSNBC, CNN, CNBC, Foxnews and shit loads of blogs are coving this. This is up from the $14 trillion that Bloomberg was previously reporting and would represent a tripling of the initial amount in 8 months.

The federal government has devoted $4.7 trillion to help the financial sector through its crisis, a watchdog report said Monday.
