Double standards exist because people believe they can get what they want out of a situation rather then being responsible for their own actions. As long as there has been society, we have had double standards.
Good people do good things. Good people can do dumb things. Good people do stupid things. Good people do bad things.
People can do all of this at once, in conjunction to other actions otherwise not described.
Is this how we should judge people?
