What does integrity mean to me? Simple, it is the core of who I am. I believe in integrity, and as we’ll see, it really is a core value.
In other lives, I have written rather extensively about the concept and preconceived notions of integrity.
I have a pair of quotes that were written for another book I’m working on called “The Code” that I feel are important to the context of the internalization that I’m facing as a human and how it is dictating how I live.
Because I strongly believe that integrity comes from within, it is an innate and immutable characteristic of your “ID”. It’s not something another person can give you, but it is something that you can have, grow, and develop into a tangible asset. Or at least into something that you can utilize as a human.
I wanted to have the base definitions available as I bring up or discuss what the definition is, what I wrote about it, and how I feel the importance is upon myself to stay true to these values, and how they are supposed to guide my moral compass.

Loyalty
G. Loyalties may run deep, tread lightly from extremity and conflict.
Y. Loyalty is standing tall when betrayal looks you in the eyes.
Loyalty, in general use, is a devotion and faithfulness to a nation, cause, philosophy, country, group, or person. Philosophers disagree on what can be an object of loyalty, as some argue that loyalty is strictly interpersonal and only another human being can be the object of loyalty.

Loyalty is very important to me, both giving that to those who have earned it, who have earned my respect as well.
Respect
C. Showing respect for all life is as paramount as being humble for the mercy of others.
Respect, also called esteem, is a positive feeling or action shown towards someone or something considered important or held in high esteem or regard. It conveys a sense of admiration for good or valuable qualities. And it is also the process of honoring someone by exhibiting care, concern, or consideration for their needs or feelings.

Honor
D. One must have honor lest falling into selfishness and lack of potential.

E. Integrity provides one with morality and character; they guide your life through the straight and narrow.
Integrity is the practice of being honest and showing consistent and uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. In ethics, integrity is regarded as the honesty and truthfulness, or accuracy, of one’s actions.

Intelligence
H. Being smart and being intelligent are mutually exclusive. Only through hard work and experience can one hope to achieve both.
Intelligence has been defined in many ways: the capacity for logic, understanding, self-awareness, learning, emotional knowledge, reasoning, planning, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. More generally, it can be described as the ability to perceive or infer information and to retain it as knowledge to be applied towards adaptive behaviors within an environment or context.

This is to say, I feel the importance of these values upon myself, and that staying true to these values shows just how important they are to me and how they have been my guide, my moral compass.
