Money It’s Pure Evil… What if I told you there was something as insidious and horrible as that? Would you believe me? Would you know it to already be true?
I first was introduced to Bigelf during the Progressive Nation 2009 tour with Dream Theater (of course).
The Progressive Nation 2009 tour also introduced me to Scale the Summit, but that’s another post on another day.
What intrigued me the most with Bigelf was the use of more unique sounds, specifically the synthesized organ sound. Always loved it for some weird reason.
This would be another “thank you” to my most favorite or favorite bands, those lovable prog masters, Dream Theater. My love is well documented and should be well known around these parts.
So why this song at this time? This isn’t about music, this is about the evils of greed and what it does to a person. It’s about, well it’s about money.
This came up in a conversation the other day with a friend, and we were talking about the insidiousness of money. The lure of it. There’s never enough. You can never have enough.
How crazy is that? Oh, that’s right… it’s not. It’s the god damn, mother fucking, truth. Open your mind and you will see, the level of corruption has amassed a grip unparalleled.
It’s not just people, the lower level folks like us, but at the institutional level, hell even at the governmental level. But, we knew all that shit for a long time.
I hate to say it, Evil is all-encompassing. Always has been, always will be.
And this leads me to this bitter end, a betrayal of a trusted source, where they were trying to take more money from me. That’s just pure greed, and it’s fucking evil.
I won’t go into it, but I’d like to say that this song from Bigelf, Money It’s Pure Evil, and the associated lyrics, is the summary and epidemy of it.
And my response is elegant, it’s easy to remember and to use… Suck a Dick, Dumb Shits.

Nothing is good
It always turns bad
Nothing misunderstood
Nothing to understand
You think that you’re right
You’re probably wrong
There’s no reason to fight
You can’t get along
With money, it’s pure evil
It changes, changes peopleEveryone’s false
And no one is real
Now there’s a cause
To make a big deal
Don’t know who’s your friend
Yeah, don’t know who’s your foe
I hope this is the end now
You know I’ve got to let go
Of money, it’s pure evil
It changes, changes people
Money, it’s your best friend
Until it leads you to bitter endMoney, it’s pure evil
It changes, well, it changes people
Money, it’s your best friend
Until it leads you to bitter end
